This is the best multi-audio and video format player and rates very good in usability. It will need a computer made after 2002-3. It is annoyance free. It works well, serves its purpose.

I would advise microsoft to package this JetAudio as the default player in windows, keep the media player backbone/api to that extent that third party developers make their own players.

The existing windows media player is a pain, (not the old classic one in win95). Please remove that in the OS installation.

CamStudio was originally released by a company called RenderSoft who were subsequently bought by a company called eHelp who used some of the technology in their program, RoboDemo ...

Some time later, eHelp was bought by Macromedia who wanted RoboDemo (which was to become Captivate) ...

When i had built my first site at netscape and tripod using things like netscape composer. I had also used RoboHelp later to create a DHTML page as i could not code very complex js. I tried this camstudio (old site) to make one short clip with web camera and desktop capture. This was a free software which could make non-interactive swf. I had listed all the free resources in my links page too. This later was moved to Freeware News. This may be before 2000.

In that software links page i had listed "camstudio < RoboHelp < Macromedia <  Adobe" and many more. It just looked like small fish to big fish eco system now, it could just be the flywheel in my brain. 

So from my gut feel i think this camstudio software is the cause of the Adobe flv format. Which created many Tubes online. Find this story interesting, read more here SAN Tube.

I may be wrong, but going by my awareness of software from DOS 4 times. I strongly feel this was an invention i never noticed till a couple of days ago. I may have ignored it as it was labeled a screen-saver. The compilations are as old as 1997 ?.This is a widgets engine.

This may been the ancestor or predecessor of the Desktop Widgets and Gadgets from various firms. It is a strange extension of plus!

I wish it is improved and enhanced for xp and made into a alternate desktop on switch. Which can hold applets too. MS ought to make donations or a provision to such freeware developers who are the engine behind their success. Apple seems to reward their developers, this is the right business model.
